Undo vs. Are you sure?

In the March 2005 issue of msdn magazine David S. Platt writes: "Provide undo, not confirmation." The editorial on page 140 elegantly states what I have been preaching for years. Thanks David! {End Bracket}

Definitely UNDO - it keeps your attention where it belongs, and not on some goofy modal popup that would distract you from your locus of attention. Anyone that has anything to do with interface (especially UI) design should read "The Humane Interface" by Jef Raskin.
